bride
my favourite appointment any day! bridal hair and make up is my specialty. i love working with my brides to create a look that is wearable and durable and enhances all their unique features.

we don't do "cakey" here so if you are a natural gal and you want an artist who won't pile on the product, it's me! hollywood waves and beachy texture are my thang (and creating hairstyles that last through the dance floor til the early hours of the mornin').

things to consider
service minimums
i require all weekend/on-location bookings to book a minimum of 6 hair and/or make up services. this is non-negotiable. It’s something I’ve implemented over the last year and here’s why:
i block book my entire day for bridal parties. this is because you NEVER know what’s going to happen, if a bride needs me longer, or there are any issues along the way. i would HATE to have to say “oh sorry i gotta run” in the midst of a crisis because I booked other clients to cover the shortfall of a smaller bridal party. my brides are my priority and i don’t want to rush off because i’m trying to make extra cash.

i offer on-location services for bridal parties and it’s honestly just not worth the long drives to only go for 1 or 2 people. those long drives are valuable time spent NOT with paying clients and so it just isn’t feasible to travel out for small bookings and then try book other people for later. the risk is too high with traffic impacting travel times and travel time limiting the amount of individuals i can see.
i have had to turn down jobs that would pay me triple the smaller group because i didn’t have a service minimum. i know some artists have cancelled on smaller bookings to take larger ones (you don't wanna be that client!) and while I do understand this, i always want to honour who booked first and so i do not cancel clients. this means i miss out on those larger bookings and it’s just honestly not a nice feeling knowing i could have made so much more. implementing a minimum booking has made it easier to turn down bigger jobs because i know i’m still getting paid an amount that makes the full day booking worth it.
bridal preview appointments (trials)
i do not offer previews as a separate service to a wedding booking. this is standard practice in my business because my time is limited and dates are snatched up quickly.
previews are a chance for us to work together and create a look that you love and feel good in. they aren’t appointments for “trialing out an artist”, but rather a chance to connect, and truly prepare for your special day. we spend this appointment chatting through your expectations, considering weather/hair type/skin type/accessories/dress neck line and a whole bunch more.
it is not advisable to have your preview too far in advance as styles change, your hair and skin changes, your ideas change, you might not have your dress or accessories finalised, etc and all of this impacts your preview and ultimate wedding day look. preview appointments ideally happen 4-6 weeks before your wedding and this is because we want it fresh in our minds but also because you want to have your dress, veil & accessories picked out and those details brought to your appointment.
wedding morning schedules
here is an example of how a wedding morning schedule looks. hair services take 30 - 45 minutes per person and make up services take 45 - 60 minutes per person. it's important to keep this timing in mind when thinking about your bridal party size, what time your ceremony is and what time the first person will need to be up and ready for their time slot. hair and make up artists determine the timing of your wedding morning, not your planner, officiant, or photographer!
